I've read a lot of nonsense about how even swimming in the Pacific coast off California is going to give you cancer and cause birth defects because of Fukushima.
The truth is that if you get cancer from swimming there, you can blame local chemical pollution, because the plume won't arrive on the west coast for another 18 months or so, and when it does, the concentrations will be so low as to be harmless.
