The "But they can't all be wrong, can they?" fallacy

Wrestle in the mud with the Woo Slingers long enough and you are bound to come across this little pearl of wisdom.



"But (insert (often inflated or even outright made up) number) of people have claimed to have seen (insert Woo here). Are you saying that all those people are wrong/lying/mistaken?"



This absurdity of this is obvious but sadly a workable definition of skepticism is often "Having to point out the obvious."



If one were to take this argument, and like all Woo arguments Woo Slingers only take this argument far enough to beg their Woo and no further, to its logical conclusion one would have to accept that every single proposed event in history that reached some tipping point of enough people to claim to have seen it must have happened.
