An Oregon county commission has gotten upset after learning that the medical waste (among other kinds of waste) which is incinerated at a waste-energy plant to produce electricity occasionally includes fetal tissue. They have ordered the plant to stop accepting any kind of medical waste, presumably until they can draw rules permitting things like cancer tumors and removed kidneys to be incinerated for energy but not fetal tissue because that would be somehow wrong.
