UK - Social media accounts for half of police work

.....at least according to Chief Constable Alex Marshall, head of the College of Policing.

Complaints originating from social media make up "at least half" of a front-line police officer's work

I'd like to see the statistics on this one, it has the whiff of hyperbole about it. For example a police officer at work in the centre of a busy town or city on a Friday night is likely to be dealing with drunken numpties getting into fights, passing out and exposing themselves and not on upset over twitter feeds. Likewise a traffic policeman is dealing with drunks, speeding and accidents not facebook.

I call bullocks on this one and reckon that the true figure is much, much lower.
