BBC "Trust Me I'm A Doctor" = "Don't I'm a TV Doctor"

BBC series "Trust Me I'm A Doctor" might as well be called "Don't Trust Me I'm a TV Doctor"

- Is anyone watching this second Dr Michael Moseley series & interested to enter a discussion about it ?

- For although they seem to have admirable motives in debunking the approach of places like the Daily Mail, they seem to then make the same typical mistakes as they try to communicate in the same way.

e.g. ep 1 had small sample sizes, uncontrolled, non blinded tests on varoious topics

but crucially started by apparently validating acupucture as an effectve treatment

with "let's put our presenter, in an fMRI ..hey look how the brain lights up, see it's working" Now although they then mentioned the placebo effect , every acupuncture clinic was jumping on Twitter to say "see proven by science"

There were only about 3 or 4 of us on Twitter saying "oh no"

- The rest of the prog did have some good stuff..

but the problem with that is that it then gives the flawed stuff extra credibility.

ep 2 was talking often about "super foods" ..which I thought was a scientific "no no", as you can't give the public the wrong impression that there are magic solutions to things and that they can carry on as normal otherwise.
