Yummy Woo Woo

Title change:

Rocket scientist steps into a pile of Woo

In the unlikely event one or two here have not repeatedly scrutinized every page of the website below, they might have missed this piece of NASA history.

Hold your nose if you must, Hoagland accurately presents the puzzling and interesting problem encountered by NASA and the Ruskies in the 50's & 60's when their early rockets and payloads consistently went higher and farther than they were supposed to. A third higher orbit in one case. In other cases, they are still the highest orbits ever, unintentionally, (that we heard about).

Hoagland's speculations are one thing, but this slice of early space program history is another. Some space buffs will find the factual historical elements worth the time spent reading...speculations aside.

Some may find the speculation interesting as well as the history, since the speculation also solves the mystery solved by the early rocketeers, ...theoretically.
