I've seen a few stories recently about young people heading off to the Middle East to join ISIS and the efforts made to intercept and stop them.
I'm wondering if we(ie Europe, Canada, the US, and any other nation that has ISIS expats) wouldn't be better off simply letting them go.
The obvious downside would be the small increase in ISIS' ranks.
The upside would be removing disaffected youths/potential terrorists from our midst, with the bonus of knowing who they are if they tried to come back in the future. Also we'd save the cost and effort of trying to stop them. And maybe since it wouldn't be forbidden any more, joining would not seem as appealing.
I'm sure there are other pros and cons. What do you all think?
