My favorite Chinese Buffet now has signs up that they accept EBT cards.
The fattest segment of American society, poor people "down on their luck" AKA on the govenment dole AKA lacking the most privledge AKA (insert next decade's phrase on euphamism treadmill) can now have Chinese buffet for dinner.

I haven't asked, but hazard a guess it's by the pound takeout only, no crab legs. Or some agreed poundage for a dinner's worth of calories and nutrition.
Well, why the hell not? Why should supermarket rotisserie takeout chickens and tubs of Swedish meatballs get all the action?
ETA: EBT cards, for those who don't know, are debit-like cards from the government that can only be used to buy certain kinds of food, nothing extravagant...as negotiated between Congress and agri-business.
