Obama said the N-word! Right wing goes nuts!

Obama said the only word that starts with N that is edited here. You know, ******. He was being interviewed by Marc Maron in what has to be the biggest coup the comedian ever got for his largely overlooked but usually funny podcast.

Here was what happened: Obama was talking about racism. "Racism, we are not cured of it. And it's not just a matter of it not being polite to say ****** in public. That's not the measure of whether racism still exists or not. It's not just a matter of overt discrimination. Societies don't, overnight, completely erase everything that happened 200 to 300 years prior."

Now, to me, that seems like a completely normal conversation on the subject. Yes he used the word. But it was in context about racism and our acceptance of it. Naturally this little bit of nuance was overlooked by Fox News who have never met a slippery slope they didn't try to jump off of.

If he talks like that in public — I can only imagine what he says in private.

It does not appear that the president’s remarks were off-the-cuff. Based on my interpretation of the podcast, he was cool, calm and measured in his use of the n-word.

It was disappointing to say the least to hear such a vulgarity come out of the mouth of the leader of the free world.

But there you have it folks – this is man who was supposed to usher in the post-racial America. This is the man who was supposed to unite, not divide.

What President Obama said is indefensible. It soils the dignity of the Oval Office.
For goodness sake. He’s the President of the United States, not a hip-hop artist

That's right. Screw context. Saying the word, no matter what he was talking about, is just evil.

Is it any wonder the right wing is incapable of ever having adult conversations?

Apparently not as another Fox News pundit took the same inexplicable tact. Deneen Borelli dropped this bit of obtuse reasoning during the America's Newsroom segment.

We're talking about the president of the United States using the "n-word," Bill. He has really dragged in the gutter speak of rap music. So now he is the first president of rap, of street? Come on, he has lowered the stature of the high office of the president of the United States and the question is why did he do this?

Why? Oh because he's trying to have a real conversation on the matter. In fact his point seems to have blown right by you which is proof enough of what he was saying.
