If you passed a gun law that either banned or severely restricted (as in police or military only) the right of a lawful citizen to own, possess or carry a firearm, what will replace it as a primary means of self defense against an armed individual?
To hand wave this away is not realistic. With all the firearms currently in our country, and two open borders (one of which is already an expanding avenue for trafficking illegal items), there is little doubt that criminals will still possess them in large numbers.
Before you give away your home, it's a good idea to find another place to live.
