I am a somewhat science/math-challenged individual so I need some help on this. I was wondering how far the first radio signal and tv signals have traveled out into outer space? Also, are these signals omni-directional or linear? Do the signals degrade over time due to lack of a power source or some kind of impedance or do they remain pristine and pure for all time?
In other words, are the first Star Trek episodes still on an extended five year mission to explore new worlds.:)
