Ben Butler guilty: Tyrannical father convicted of murdering daughter Ellie

Mrs Justice Hogg had promised Ellie a "happy end" in November 2012, returning her to her father after his conviction for shaking her as a baby was quashed on appeal. However instead of a happy childhood, Ellie was thrust back into a violent and abusive home life overseen by the tyrannical Butler. The jobless father, who harboured a notoriously foul temper and a short fuse, abused his young daughter for months before inflicting devastating and fatal injuries. Although Butler has never revealed how she died, experts believe Ellie may have been clubbed over the head with a blunt instrument or thrown against a wall by her father.

I feel sick.
Every fibre of my being wants to scream out and do to him what he did to his beautiful little girl, but I know that would be wrong. I don't want to be him, I don't want to think of him and I certainly don't want to feel sorry for him, but I do! And I feel dirty for it.
