Mother uses 'whiteface' to address racism in Australia

This one is genuinely interesting, when the original story broke I never expected this to happen, but then I never expected Aboriginal senator Ben Wyatt to state that the decision by a local council in Perth Western Australia to ban Australia Day fireworks to focus on 'inclusive' events was a bad move

Quote:

“The (relationship) between Aboriginal people and Aust Day is profound. Cancelling fireworks a facile response and likely to cause more division,”

Now onto the main issue. A Perth mother dressed her kid up in blackface so that he could look like his sporting hero, resulting in a torrent of abuse directed at her:

Now an Aboriginal woman has posted photographs of her daughter in Whiteface (To represent a Dr Seuss character) and what she is quoted as saying is very very interesting:

Quote:

"Unfortunately now this little boy who has been shown by the dark skinned community that his admiration for a black man is unacceptable and has learnt racism,"
