They really don't understand the facts that A) you aren't funny if you have to constantly explain your jokes 2) people representing the White House are taken seriously no matter how stupid the words coming out of their mouths and III) some people cannot tell jokes and they just shouldn't even try. Yeah, I'm looking right at you Kellyanne.
This doesn't mean they can't joke, but they need to get better jokes and use them appropriately.
