NASA CEO is "convinced" that Aliens have visited earth

On Sunday, Robert Bigelow — real estate mogul and founder of the space habitat company Bigelow Aerospace — did an interview with 60 Minutes, in which he touted the strengths of the commercial space industry and how private companies would pave the way for people to live in space. He also said aliens have definitely visited Earth.

This is the kind of article that a person like my dad will take as an example to say "See? Even NASA knows we have been visited by Aliens".

Notice how Bigelow never says that he "saw them". He just says he's "absolutely convinced", which means he doesn't know it for a fact.

Notice also how the stupid reporter never asks him whether he has any evidence, or even whether he has actually seen one.


Another part that annoyed me was this:

Lara Logan: Is it risky for you to say in public that you believe in UFOs and aliens? Robert Bigelow: I don't give a damn. I don't care.

Oh, well, how brave of him! To have the courage to come out and say in public what millions of people all over the world are already also convinced of without any evidence, and who now will only feel like they have a legitimate authority to back up their beliefs! It's really brave of him to come out and say this.

In the end, it's irrelevant whether people think he's crazy or not. The only thing that matters is compelling evidence, and we got none of that.



Another fun fact is that he physically looks a lot like Chick Corea, who's a known scientologist :D
