Was it a coup attempt against Trump?

I am of the opinion that government institutions should not be in the business of determining who the people elect as president. If the following had happened to Obama, I would be just as outraged as I am hearing about the FBI doing this to Trump.

Here is a hypothetical question from Mackubin Thomas Owens;

Quote:

President Obama had already accepted the resignation of a well-regarded general when it was revealed that his staff had mocked and criticized the president and his advisers. Subsequently, emails have emerged making it clear that uniformed officers had been secretly working on behalf of President Obama’s Republican opponent, feeding him damaging information.

One email in particular has set off alarm bells: the director of the Joint Staff had written to his mistress, a civilian lawyer working for the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “I want to believe the path you threw out for consideration in the chairman’s office — that there’s no way Obama gets reelected — but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. We need an insurance policy ... ” Investigators wondered what this “insurance policy” regarding the president might be.

Other emails have revealed that now that Obama has been reelected, uniformed military officers have been making a concerted effort to undercut his policies, which many in the military believed were weakening the security of the United States. The president is beset by leaks and obstruction of his policies. It is clear that much of the uniformed military sees President Obama as a weak sister and are doing everything they can to obstruct him.

My question is this: How would the press report this story?

Isn't this scenario exactly what we should all be against, regardless of who is in office?
