Has anyone been to Vegas recently? I just went last week. It had been about 5 years since my last visit.
Well, the prices totally exploded. Apparently two companies (MGM and Caesar's) have bought up almost all of the casinos on the Strip.
So we saw some pretty outrageous prices (these are approximate averages):
Buffet $42
Fast food lunch $25
Bottle of 12oz domestic beer $8
Pack of cigarettes $16
Minimum at most blackjack tables $15
Weirdly, you could still get a $4 coffee at Starbucks. Or a $1 cup of water with free refills (we joked that this was the best deal on the Strip).
Downtown or one block off the Strip, prices were pretty much normal.
