Viagra available (almost) over the counter in the UK

A recent change means that Viagra is now available in the UK without a prescription. It's up to the pharmacist whether to sell it to you, though. What made me laugh was the wording from this pharmacist.
Quote:

Viagra Connect is for men who have erectile dysfunction symptoms. It’s for men who are fit enough for sex, but who are unable to get or maintain an erection hard enough for sexual intercourse. However, it may not be right for everyone. We’ll check whether it’s suitable for you by asking you to complete a short questionnaire online or following a consultation in store. Your answers will be reviewed by a pharmacist, but, don’t worry, we won’t ask you anything embarrassing.
Well, I'm not sure how many things are more embarrassing than discussing erectile dysfunction with a stranger. Perhaps they're assuming that only those people who don't find it embarrassing will apply.

The change is to reduce the risks of people buying unregulated biagra from the internet; is it freely available in other countries?
